This research paper deals with the corpus of Welsh interludes which grew from the pseudo-historical chronicles of the Britons and the developments to this native historical tradition between the second half of the seventeenth century and the mid-eighteenth century. It also discusses the way in which similar themes are treated in the carols, free-metre poems and almanacs of the period, mainly because it was the same writers who composed in all these forms.
